West Zurich: from industrial district to trendy quarter

Where once ships were built and engines bolted together, today art, design, gastronomy, culture, shopping and architecture take center stage. The factories have moved away, leaving behind an enormous amount of space that creative people have made use of. Design boutiques and a market hall have moved into the railroad viaduct arches, and Frau Gerolds Garten, an urban garden with a restaurant, has been created on the Gerolds site.
